On Monday, Wilmer Flores Trosel, director of the Corps for Scientific Penal and Criminal Investigations (CICPC), indicated that there was a 20 percent reduction in the crime and homicide rate throughout Venezuela during December 2008, as compared to 2007.
Trosel made this announcement while presenting the results of Safe Christmas Plan 2008. He also emphasized that in 2008, the Metropolitan District registered a 15% reduction in crimes and homicides as compared to last year.
